About Me
Hi, I’m Becky Masson, and I like to think of myself as someone whose heart lives in a warm kitchen filled with the scent of cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, ginger, sizzling butter, and the occasional mischievous cat tail brushing past my legs.
I'm 45 years old, born and raised in Austin, Texas, and I share my cozy little home with my ever-curious feline sous-chef, Miso.

Preparing food has always been a heartfelt act, not just a routine task. It began with vivid memories of my grandmother's kitchen a place where time slowed and magic happened in cast iron pans and on faded recipe cards. She had this way of making everyone feel welcome with just a slice of pie or a pot of stew bubbling away. That warmth and joy pulled me in from an early age.

My passion deepened and became serious once I reached university. Amid the hustle of college life, cooking became my therapy and creative outlet. I’d test out recipes late at night, trying to improve everyday dishes and tweak flavors until something clicked.
I believe in continuous improvement in life and especially in the kitchen. If you’re passionate about something, why not give it your best, right?
That mindset led me to take part in various cooking courses and hands-on workshops whenever I could squeeze them in. It’s become a habit I treasure constantly learning, tasting, adjusting.
I feel most alive when I’m inventing new recipes, inspired by whatever's in season or a nostalgic craving that strikes out of the blue. I’m a big believer in trusting your palate and embracing creativity. Some experiments flop, sure, but many turn into the kind of dish that makes someone smile with the first bite. That, to me, is success.

My cooking is rooted in comfort, love, and a playful spirit. I share it with my cat, my friends, and anyone who believes the heart of the home truly is the kitchen.
